Sacred Grounds is a popular, locally owned café located near Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado Springs. The restaurant has a cozy yet lively ambiance with customers strolling in and out looking for a quick cup of coffee, a warm meal, or a quaint place to relax and enjoy the view after visiting nearby attractions. In preparation for the warm Summer season, Sacred Grounds began an expansion of the outdoor patio area. Craig Reed, consultant to Natasha Shnaper – owner of Sacred Grounds, reached out to Equip Inc. for a quote on outdoor patio furniture to complement this project.

Special Requirements for this Project

Sacred Grounds requested durable, comfortable, stackable and affordable outdoor restaurant chairs for their café. With a heavy flow of tourists and locals in the summer it is essential that the chairs are durable to withstand heavy traffic, comfortable for customers, easy to store, and affordable for a small, locally owned business. Since the chairs are stored outdoors, it is also imperative that the chairs are able to withstand harsh UV rays and a 4 season environment as Colorado has very unique weather conditions and intense UV rays.

Equip Furniture Solution

Since Equip Inc. is also based in Colorado Springs, President Scott Mullens and Account Manager Sonia Ruelas visited Sacred Grounds to help assess their needs, propose different patio furniture options, drop off samples, and ensure delivery went as planned.

Equip suggested 40 bronze powdercoat aluminum Capri chairs from commercial furniture factory BFM seating, which Equip is a dealer for. With the expansion of the restaurant/café’s outdoor patio area, and with all of the other elements going into place including a new outdoor bar, landscaping, patio heaters and other amenities, Sacred Grounds really needed a seating solution that would be commercial grade and meet all the requirements and also meet tight budgetary requirements. The BFM Capri Aluminum chairs were the perfect fit as an appropriate seating solution for the space.

Challenges

Since furniture from Equip is often being shipped from a manufacturer, there is always a risk of items being damaged in freight. There was a small hiccup with this order when 6 of the delivered chairs had slight scrapes caused in transit. Equip immediately filed a claim and was able to receive 6 brand new replacement chairs! BFM’s ability to quickly address and resolve issues like these attributes to their close relationship to Equip and their integrity as a reliable manufacturer.
