Food Court Furniture for JFK
EQUIP SUPPLIES FURNITURE FOR JFK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
CUSTOMER:
JFK International Airport
JOB REQUIREMENT:
JFK International Airport was experiencing some serious wear and tear on their Terminal 1 food court furniture. They needed new table tops, bases and chairs that would not only meet the requirements of their space, but would also be durable and comfortable for their travelers. JFK airport knew that they wanted round, textured bases, lightweight chairs, and solid table surfaces that could withstand the rigors of 24/7 airport traffic. Equip joined the AIP bidding process, and JFK chose Equip for their supplier!
EQUIP’S FURNITURE SOLUTION:
The staff at Equip began coming up with the best ways to fulfill their airport furniture needs. Equip suggested Kalypso bases because they are durable, textured, and carry a 10-year product warranty. Similarly, Equip suggested Anna chairs because they are rather lightweight/moveable and yet at the same time very durable. Finally, Equip sent samples of each of these to JFK airport as well as over 80 color options for solid table tops! After viewing the samples, JFK elected to go with sturdy and attractive indigo blue solid surface table tops.
CHALLENGES FACED:
Because this project was for a bustling international airport, there were some additional, specific security and delivery requirements. For example, the bridge to the terminal was only 12’6” high (too low to accommodate the delivery truck), and the items needed to be delivered at a specific time in order for the Port Authority of New York to escort the delivery to the terminal. As a result, Equip adjusted the freight delivery to accommodate these needs, coordinated transfer of goods to a smaller truck that could clear the bridge, and got everything delivered. To date, Equip has supplied over 98 tabletops, 130 table bases, and 290 chairs for the JFK Terminal 1 food court!
Throughout this project, Equip built a strong relationship with the customer. Our staff worked with them to provide commercial grade furniture items that exceeded their expectations, all at a competitive price point.
SUMMARY:
Equip’s goal is to provide furniture solutions which are affordable, customizable, and durable. It is essential for airports to have furniture that can endure considerable daily traffic for many years. Our pride for this project, however, is not just in the quantity or quality of the furniture provided, but also in the relationship built with the customer. The staff at Equip is passionate about customer service and working with customers from their first inquiry through product delivery/fulfillment. We want to give our customers a positive, responsive experience at every step of the way.
